Hello, have booked a holiday at Veligandu Island Resort in the Maldives and I am looking to to do some surfing

is this a good place to do it from? Any advice on surfing in the maldives would be great. and Can i hire a board out there. thanks.

1. The best thing would be for you to contact the hotel and see if they offer any water sports, and if not, if there are any other islands in the area that have the possibility to surf at. From my experience, the waters in the area are pretty calm, so don't expect serious waves. Hang ten.

3. Veligandu is not idea for wave surfing. yes if you can hire a boat and visit a place where waves are there and you can surf around. the best spots for wave surfing is. Near Hudhuran Fushi. Near Dhonveli Beach. Near Paradise Island.
