- Aruba is a beautiful place. I have been there. I don't understand what you mean by an island for the rich. Anyone can go to Aruba. I am not a rich person, and I enjoyed Aruba immensely. The weather is beautiful. If you're an outdoor nut, there are many outdoor activities: scuba diving, boating, skydiving, water skiing etc. You name, they do it. There are no hurricanes there, and the heat is not like up here. You are below the equator, so the sun is extremely HOT!!! I would advise wearing sun protection all the time in the sun. I have dark olive complexion, and I wore a #40 sun protection. Still came home with a fantastic tan. The clubs are great, they all have gambling. The food is fantastic ... diet before you go. That way you can eat everything while you are there. The beaches are pure, the water beautiful, the people are very welcoming. All the taxis are Mercedes. There is no tax in Aruba. The people do not live in poverty. I hope you go. You'll have a grand time!!!
