Is Luxury an effective positioning for resort island-style Casino?
We are doing a project on the positioning of such a casino. The casino is located on a tropical island and has theme parks surrounding it, but nearby there is ANOTHER casino which caters to businessmen and such. Both of these have luxury as their selling points, but would it be effective to position my casino as a luxury facility which provides leisurely gaming?? What do you think is the most important selling point of a casino?

- You have to look at your clientele base and judge from that. Honeymooners, families non-gamblers all are in the mix. Luxury can hinder a resort to. The word is intimidating to some who just want a leisure stay. Luxury to me means catering to the wealthy and that is not your bread and butter. if you are on an island your tourist is your bread and butter and they will listen to where the best payouts are happening.
