A big place like New York, Vegas or Paris or a known tropical resort with all kinds of activities and restaurants..... or something intimate, like a B&B in the country or a quiet island hotel with a secluded beach?

I would love to go to Bora Bora and go to those huts on the water all by ourselves, It would be heaven.
If I got as far as getting married, I'd want to visit beachy head.
a B & B is so much more intimate and appropiate.
Quiet getaway for two.....I want to be alone with him when that time comes.
for my honeymoon my husband took me in a hot air balloon to scotland (it was in the summer so it was a little warmer than ussual) and we spent two weeks in pure bliss having picnics and you no what. we went to lots of touristy places but we just love the peace and quiet. My husband and kids died three years ago in a plane crash so that is one of the memories that i love to re-live. Thankyou.
If you are living together now, then a big city enviro will be really great. But if you are going to return home from the trip to live together for the first time,then aquiet peaceful resort is very important. There is a lot going when you get home. You want to be rested. If you live together and have your living issues dow, then go for the hectic vacation.
When I got married almost 2 years ago we had the same question as you. What we decided to do was a little of a couple of things. First we ruled out a big place or a popular resort. We felt like we could never be alone enough. We ruled out a B&B type place, we thought we would be alone to much and become bored. So, we settled on a smallish all inclusive island resort with a private beach but it was within a half hour walking distance of the town's night life. We also took a taxi or a van with others to see some of the tourist spots and activities. This way we had ample time to be very private when we wanted it. We also could get out and be entertained by the islands activities when we wanted to get out and about. Our resort also had all kinds of free water sports and planned activities if we wanted to take part in those at no additional cost.
