which greek island would be lovely and extraoridinarily interesting to vacation at? ty?

1. 20+ years ago I had a wonderful holiday on Rhodes. It has lots of historic stuff and also is close to other little islands. The people were friendly too. However that was a long time ago!
2. Depends on what you like as 'interesting' To me,it's watching the world go by while lazing on a beach with a beer. Corfu,Ios,Rhodes,Kos, among others if you want Raucous night life. As this is in seniors I suppose you don't. Kefalonia is a beautiful Island,the nicest I've visited. Crete,I believe as a lot of history.never been there We go regularly to Skiathos. Not a lot of history,but brilliant beaches. That's where 'mama mia' was filmed
3. My daughter and I visited Crete. A Beautiful Island with the best of the old and the new.
4. i believe which ever greek island you choose you will find beauty there. why not try island hopping and see them all?
5. I didn't like Crete. Stayed in Rethimnon. Huge and about 10 feet of waterfront which you see on all the postcards. And 'beware of Greeks bearing gifts' was never a truer word. In fairness, the antiquity in Crete almost made my visit worthwhile. Santorini is the most beautiful island and the views out over the sea are truly stunning. To be honest, that is all it has going for it, that and very expensive shops.
