  5. Ge to all the places Early
  6. Go to the store and get gift cards.
  7. gift cards, food items, and personal items that are on sale at penneys or walmart
  8. Boxes of chocolates, picture frames, bubble bath. Don't put tags on them and they are great last-minute gifts for people you forget :) I also found some terrific recipes for home-made bubble bath online. This year for some relatives I made honey vanilla bubble bath. They are really easy and inexpensive to make and are quite luxurious! Homemade gifts always speak from the heart. Last resort - make sugar cookies and decorate with icing or sprinkles :)
  9. Buy presents and give them to your friends and family
  10. Ask your friend or family member to mind your kids while you out shopping. Take your shopping list with you.
  11. start earlier next time! (a very good tip)
  12. I've never done it before, this is my first year. I'm shopping today. I have a list of names & ideas of what I want to get for them, and the stores I will hit. I am in Chicago- it is co-0-ld, wish me luck. I tried yesterday & got a flat. I am baking cookies this morning (it's 6am), I made the dough last night If you are looking for electronics & wanna save money- try salescircular.com, click on your state. I have watching GPS's for a coupe of weeks now.
  13. go on your own and walk around a 2 dollar shop. random stuff will remind you of the person you're looking for, or it will give you a rough idea and you'll expand on it and think of something better. i did it today, worked like a charm!!
  14. My husband went grocery shopping at 4am and it was quet as a mouse in there, so I guess that is a good tip to avoid the crowds. Other than that don't go mad when it coes to grocery shopping...the shops are only shut for one day so I don't see why everyone needs to buy so much? Also we started gift shopping for the kids and family members in April so by September we had so many gifts. Now me and my husband have a fair amount of cash to blow on a present for eachother wehich wouldn't of happened had we not started shopping early. Only downside is you forget the amount of things you have bought and buy lots more so you will need a huge tree to fit everything under on Christmas morning. Merry Christmas everyone x
  15. tell ppl u have left there presents at home and then buy them in the january sales :P :)
  16. Looking in your wardrobe and those hidden drawers you never open might be a good idea -you'll be amazed by the number of things you never use, that are new or nearly new and that might please your friend or family. And it's green too, you'll be recycling presents instead of buying new ones!
  17. DO NOT spend more Money (£s / $s) than YOU can REALLY AFFORD !
  18. DONT DO IT!
  19. I try to get most stuff early. If you're going to get things late though, go to your nearest shopping centre as early as possible, and move as fast as you can. It would help a lot if you knew what you wanted to get before hand so you can go to the place quickly to get it.
  20. I'm giving "CASH" $$, because the times are rough for everyone. I think it is better to give them something that they can decide is important rather than what I think is important!
  21. Buy a magazine subscription.you can do it online
  22. 1st stay calm relax think what the person likes if the store is out of the item shop at a different. If that store is out think of a different thing they like.
  23. High street shopping vouchers
  24. Hey :) If it's the absolute last minute, and there is no time to head for the shops, homemade presents are the answer. They are more personal as well! Online, there are some great instructions on how to make bath salts, new year calendars etc. Most are quick to do, and look lovely when you have finished. You could also make edible christmas presents. Create personal christmas hampers, which includes individually chosen food and personalised wrapping paper and ribbons. Inside the hamper, put in some homemade biscuits, cakes, jams etc. :) If there is still some time to go for the shops, try and go to shops where they wrap the presents for you! This saves a lot of time, and the wrapping is usually really nice. Shops like this include Thorntons, and Marks and Spencers. Plan beforehand the shops you will go to. Don't browse through stores for hours on end! Be organised - there's no time to browse! Call the store, and ask if they have your gift in stock. Ask if they can hold the gift for you, and rush to the shop as quickly as you can! Some really good gifts that are great if you're running out of time are: - Amazon gift cards. I've never ordered one, but apparently if you have Amazon, you can email it to the person you are giving it to, in 5 minutes! Other gift cards you can email quickly are from ASOS, Play.com, CD Wow, Sendit and lastminute.com But the best tip, is that next year, try to plan ahead and but the presents early! :)
  25. Look in the real world. Decode this lyrics " Fernando" "What's the name of the game" How can he fit in? When it's "All in the family" "Black or white" Without being aware of getting kick on the butts by Goldfinger? "Stand by me" "Micky" Luke 21.30-33 What do you think?
  26. Next year, don't leave it til the last minute
  27. 28. Go to the supermarket . Blokes get booz , birds get smellies . Job done .
  29. Okay, first of all, KNOW YOUR BEARINGS. Is it easy to get to your car once you are in said store? Is it possible to lose a member of your team in the chaos that awaits you? DO NOT take your eyes off your Christmas list. Know what you need before you go to the store. If possible, get a plan of the store and see what category comes first as soon as you step in the door. If pharmaceuticals is first then ensure you put any products from there top of your list. KEEP ELBOWS OUT AT ALL TIMES! This will push anybody in your way out of it and you have a better path of getting to where you want to go. Shouting "GO, GO, GO!!!" at your team will startle the others and this will create a split like the Red Sea. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT AND RUN! It makes sense to give each team mate a category (Beauty, Food & Drink, Hair, Perfumes, Jewellery, etc...) so that the entire base is covered which saves time. When paying for your goods, ALWAYS keep your cash/card handy before you get to the check-out. BE PREPARED! Know your PIN if paying by card. When task is complete, LEAVE AS SOON AS YOU CAN. Your behaviour may startle staff and public and you should not draw attention to yourself. Enjoy your mission.
  30. 38. give them a good old rubiks cube ;)
  39. go late night shopping at the high street once the majority of christmas shoppers have gone home. Some car parks are free after 7pm which is a bonus
  40. I recruit members of my family and give them a list of the shop, price and type of gift I want or the nearest equivalent. We all go into the nearest shopping centre and go to the shops on our list. If the present im looking for is not in store the usual way we deal with it is to buy gift vouchers for the price the present would cost. Then we all meet at a prearranged meeting point and get taxies home.

  43. Don't buy any, Bah 'umbug!
  44. Haven't got time to answer proper, because I've got last minute things to sort for Christmas :-) Well one thing I found to save time was to put gifts for the one family all in an appropriately sized gift bag - there are some beautiful bags available and quite reasonable price wise - It saves a lot of time trying to wrap everything and whether at home or to arrive at a frnds with a nice bag of gifts is so much nicer... Another thing for a quick gift is to just hand someone a card with perhaps a nice bar of chocolate (some of theforeignnchocolatee bars are in nice wrappers very appropriate for the season. The best gift of all is to wish someone a Happy Christmas filled with true peace and joy and mean it from the heart... So Happy Christmas with all the seasons greetings of true Inner Peace and Joy to all for now and throughout the New Year, From me (Miykell) in Ireland.
  45. Give them money, and a small gift that always goes down well :D
  46. I just make mine!! It's inexpensive and it adds to the holiday vibe. Here's a link with a few crafts:
  47. homemade picture frame
  48. Shop online.
  49. if there is anything in your closets or garage (that is still in good condition), make sure you don't want to keep them though! lol! wrap them up no one should be able to tell!! my friends didn't notice last year!! p.s stay clear from woolworths it's packed of people, unfortunately not of stuff you actually want to buy!!
  50. make a scale of preference for yourself and check where the item u wanna buy falls, secondly take a second thought about if u really need that item or u think its cheap that's why u wanna buy it or when will that items really becomes use to you,and lastly think about the immediate effect to you when you buy a particular item, if u take this advice u will always have some money on you to spend and never go bankrupt, and you will always buy what u wanted at the right price and on the right time and never waste money,on things u will never even use this december.
