How to go about booking a last minute holiday?

I plan to book a last minute holiday abroad tomorrow for the following week (12th). What are the best ways to go about it and are there particular things I can say which will help me get a better deal. We are on a budget so want to get the best deal possible! Any advise would be brilliant! Thanks

5. be very careful with what sites you use. travelrepublic.com and teletext.com usually have really good deals. also it may be worth taking a look at thomascook.com theres lots of extra discounts to be had this weekend only, mayb more if you call your local store but with any website you wish to use always make sure they are abta bonded and atol protected!

7. I am looking for simular deal and have done quite a bit of comparing same holiday on various sights. I have found best value Sunmaster.co.uk and lowcostbeds.com.(you get choice of flights charter and no frills) A friend suggested icelollyholidays but I haven't found them as cheap as the first mentioned
