Where's the best island to visit with our 3 year old child?

I lived in the north of Thailand for 4 years teaching, so know that area very well, but was wondering which of the beaches down in the south anyone thought was the best for a trip with our 3 year old son? We are looking at mid range prices - not backpacker bungalows and not 5 star resorts - somewhere with decent beaches, not too developed and away from the seedy pattaya-style go go bar girl scenes. Somewhere family/child friendly. Any ideas? We would be flying from Bangkok sometime in April for a week or so. Thanks

1. I don't think there is any tourist island that you couldn't bring your child to. Choice from Koh Chang, Samed, Samui, or even if you consider Phuket an island.
2. Koh Samui, is more family oriented that Phuket
3. Guess Phuket will be fine like Kata,Nai Harn/Rawai. They have plenty of Hotels/Bungalows in a mid range price wich are also child-friendly.Little expensive but perfect for both parents/kids would be Club Med in Kata.
