Molokai, Hawaii question

After the Molokai Ranch closed (who owns about a third of the island), I heard that people can no longer access the land that is owned by the ranch. Is this true? If it's true, how can people access the western portion of the island, for example Papohaku Beach? I was looking to book a vacation rental there for next year, but now I wonder if visitors are still allowed to go there.
