What should we do on our trip to Estuary Island resort Poovar, Kerala?

We are going to Poovar for a 2 week holiday. We have read some reviews and have been told not to use the Thomas Cook booking service as they are too expesive. We did read that someone got a taxi driver to take them to an Elephant Rehab centre but no detail was given. What would you suggest we do?? Is there an elephant rehabilitation centre near there?

1. There are loads of taxis around,expect to pay £10 per taxi for the whole day.They will take you to where you want.If its a longer trip you want then the rate will be the same,any overnight trips and the driver will just sleep in the car,however treat him to the odd meal.If you want short trips then a tuk tuk should do,rates are about50% cheaper.
