Anyone been to the Bolongo Bay Resort in the US Virgin Islands?

I am going to the US Virgin Islands in November and I keep reading about this resort on the travel sites. I am seeing good and bad reviews. Any advice? Any better resorts (not too expensive, 3-4 star)? I am a 26 year old female, going on a girls birthday trip. Interests include beach lounging, swimming, snorkeling, water sports, massage, and shopping. Is this a good area for the above excursions?

  1. One of the reasons that Bolongo Bay Resort is popular among visitors is that it's a mid-ranged priced hotel that offers an all-inclusive plan and is located right on the beach. The only other all-inclusive resort in the USVI is the Wyndham Sugar Bay Beach Resort. On a scale of lousy-excellent, Bolongo can easily rate a "fair". It's reasonably priced and there's usually some kind of entertainment available every night. It's a pretty good distance from the major nightlife spots. Based on what you're looking for though, Bolongo might be just what you're looking for. They've got a dive shop right there and lots of lounge chairs. Shopping, not so much but you can easily catch a taxi to Havensight or Main Street where most of the shopping spots are. Bolongo also offers massages according to their website. I think if you're looking for all those activities you're going to be hard pressed to find another spot like it at such a reasonable rate. Still, check out the links below and you might find another interesting place to stay.
