New Super Mario DS Vs Yoshi's Island 2 DS?

Hi, I was wondering out of the two games which is the best, either New Super Mario or Yoshi's Island 2? I am going to buy a game for my GF for the flight when we go on holiday, she used to play Super Mario World back in the days of the SNES so I am looking at platform games of a similar genre but if there are any others you would recommend other than New Super Mario or Yoshi Island then let me know. She used to also like Mario Party for the Gamecube but the DS version hasn't grabbed me. But for your answer give me one of the two and then add anything else on of interest after that. Thanks.

1. new super mario bros is the best. its a game that will keep you entertained for a long time! i would also suggest mario kart and brain age 2. both are great and addicting titles and ive had them for a few years and still pick them up! plus all three have ds download play, so if you have a ds both of you can play together with only one copy of the game!!
