What is a good tropical island for summer vacation?

My friend and I are planning a trip for next summer. We want to travel to a tropical island. Appearance wise we like the island in the film Mama Mia. We have a fairly low budget seeing as we are students. We're looking for good islands to travel to without having to pay thousands upon thousands of dollars.

well the one in mamma mia is in greece and you done said your on a budget so....the summer time is when hurricane season starts so keep that in mind! HI is pretty expensive so i would say some small caribbean island. i would say the USVI or the BVI just cause your college students and thats the easiest for a tropical get away! maybe even puerto rico! or the Florida keys or even the bahamas
going to tropical islands in the summer sucks. anywhere in the south in the summer is really hot, humid, and uncomfortable during the summer. have you thought about bermuda? that's gorgeous in the summer. nantucket, martha's vineyard, cape cod would be nice even though cape cod isn't really an island. hilton head island off the coast of one of the carolinas is also nice this time of year. greek islands are also nice, but expensive. if you're old enough, take a cruise to bermuda so you won't have to pay a lot for airfare.
i would go to the florida keys if ur on a budget or a caribean island. but every tropical place is gonna be crowded this time of year

Hawaii hands down!!! I know it's probably the most popular but you can find countless cheap vacation packages for Hawaii. Even though everybody seems to go there it's still gets overlooked.
