vacation question, if you live in NY?
Hi im from Long Island and in April I want to go somewhere warm, on a beach but I hate flying and dont want to drive too far because it would only be for about 4 days. Ive driven to Myrtle Beach and that was very long and Virginia Beach also which wasnt bad but it wasnt too warm. It went up to the 80's once. I saw a place called sunset beach (its northern myrtle beach) in N.C. have you ever hear of it? where are warm, possibly palm trees and beaches that are nice enough to lay out but not too far to drive?

- N.C. beaches or S.C. beaches don't have palm trees they have PALMETTO trees.
- eh it isnt all that great (but ive been going since I was 4 now 18) but no they dont really have palm trees however it is warm and nice to lay out on the beach
- Actually palmettos are palm trees but no the truely tropical palm trees like coconuts. They are much more cold tolerant and grow as far northa s virginia beach whereas coconuts have trouble growing north of Fort myers FL. You would have to go pretty far south to go to a warm beach in april because even in the south the water is cool that time of the year so the beaches are much cooler than the surrounding land. I know you dont like flying, but maybe bermuda is an option. Its only about an hour and a half flight so its much shorter than going to southern florida, but equally as tropical. Its about 700 miles off the long island coast but its worth it! Because its in the middle of the ocean it stays warm all year long, but the downside is that you will be flying mainly over water the entire trip their. Its about as long of a plane ride as a plane ride to south carolina. If you still are too nervous to fly their than you can go to sunset beach, but palm trees arent as widely planted as myrtle beach, and it isnt likely to be very hot but one never knoes during the spring months!
