  1. Been a while; but I always liked the "Tween Waters Inn," a unique experience. I'm sure there's plenty if the name is simply googled. The name refers to Sanibel/Captiva, and their location between the Gulf of Mexico and the bay--the two connected Islands. Traditionally, Sanibel/Captiva is known as a place to relax, get away from it all, as opposed to nightlife, glamorous beach towns. A commune with nature experience. The beaches are literally loaded with piles of seashells--a current phenomenon, I think. "JN Darling State Park," especially this time of year, is a birdwatcher's mecca. Everything is very compact, close together, casual. But remember, it's been a few years since I've been, and things change rapidly in South Florida. As a native south Floridian, I think it's a fine getaway choice, an alternative to most other glitzy south Florida beach areas. If you're into the "commune with nature" sort of thing, take side trips to Naples, FL, the Everglades, also Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary.
  2. 'Tween Waters Inn is nice, like a previous post said, but if you want THE BEST RESORT, there is only one true answer, South Seas Plantaion, but you better have deep pockets.
