We are having a 'Christmas in July' party for my family...?

My family was unable to get together this holiday season due to a huge snowstorm on the day of the party. We were going to re-schedule, but we never got around to it. So, we decided to have a Christmas in July party this summer. There are going to be about 30-40 people ranging from age 3 to about 50. My parents have a beach house that overlooks the water, so we're planning to have it there (its in Fenwick Island, Delaware). In addition to the beach, there are also all sorts of attractions around the area such as the boardwalk (rides, games, food, drinks), go carts, swimming, fishing, jet skis-- all the normal beach things. But as far as the actual party is concerned, I'm clueless. Given the circumstances, does anyone have any ideas for a Christmas in July party? Here are some things I have so far: -we don't want anyone to bring gifts, even though its a Christmas thing -we're going to ask everyone to bring their favorite dish (pot luck) because we don't want to put pressure on any one individual to make all the food -we're going to make it a sleep over. we have 3 different houses that we can use. So I need any ideas. Anything at all. Food ideas, decoration ideas, theme ideas. I want this to be really creative. Thanks in advance =]

  1. Merry July Christmas .
  2. red and green decorations, along with say, red, white, and blue decorations. I recommend a BBQ for the food. A theme would be Christmas in July, just mix Christmas with a 4th of july theme, and there you go.
  3. JESUS SAID HIS BIRTHDAY IS JUNE 17 THE COMPUTOR SAYS IT I READ IT YESTERDAY IN THE COMPUTOR.... NOT DECEMBER 25
  4. How about decorating some fake palm trees? Hang lei's on the trees and cheap sunglasses, etc, with a beach theme. Hit the Party supply place or the dollar stores for beach trinkets to put up. Since everyone will be running in and out to the beach and the other local events, how about everyone bring salad and sandwich stuff? Someone bring ham salad, someone has tuna, roast beef, turkey, etc. Fruit salads and green salads and cold desserts. The fixings (bread, etc) can stay at the house and anyone can put whatever they want together when they run in to change for the beach or the next event. Have fun!
