What are some famous examples of positive last-minute decisions?

I need some help thinking of situations that turned out good due to last-minute decisions. The only one I can think of is David Ogilvy's decision to give the guy in the Hathaway add an eye patch, but someone said that overall he struggled towards the end of his career.
