What New Jersey beach should we visit?

In June, my family and I are going on vacation to New Jersey. We really want to visit the best beach possible. We are probably only going to visit the beach for only 1 or 2 days, though. We want to go to a beach that is a little bit on the Northern part of the state, so it will be closer to us. We also want a beach where there is a lot to do, including a boardwalk, shops, etc. Also, I don't want to go to a run-down dirty beach, I want to visit a beautiful clean beach. And if there was surfing there, that would be great! My ideas were: Point Pleasant Beach Surf City Beach Long Beach Island Seaside Heights I've never been to New Jersey so I don't know which are the best! Thanks(:

  1. Stay away from Seaside Heights - there's a reason why the locals refer to it as "Sleazeside." Surf City and LBI are right near each other, but they're not really in the northern part of the state. They don't have boardwalks. You might enjoy Point Pleasant, there's a boardwalk and amusements there, as well as shopping. I don't remember how the actual beach is, but I know you have to pay for access.
