3 weeks in Thailand in March had a quote for £2887 for 2 people, is this a good price?
This includes flights to and from Bangkok (flying from London),transfers and internal flights, 2 nights in a 3 star hotel in Bangkok, 4 nights in Chiang Mai in a 4 star hotel, 7 nights in Phuket in a 4 star resort, 6 nights in a beach bungalow 4 star on Phi Phi Islands and an Elephant Safari and Rafting Day trip. Is this a reasonable price or do you think we could get it cheaper? It's through a company called travelmood Here's a break down if you're interested: Bel-Aire Princess Hotel Bangkok - 2 nights; £76 Kantary Hills Hotel Chiang Mai Bed Suite for 2 for 4 nights; £184 Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Superior Twin Room for 7 nights; £413 Holiday Inn Resort Garden Bungalow Twin for 6 nights, Garden Bungalow Twin for 6 nights; £510 Flights to and from Bangkok with Thai Airways; £1,152 The the transfer costs vary, and the Elephant/rafting day is £112. (Which is a rip off by the sounds of it!)

- the weather is going to be perfect out there and Thailand is an amazing place with really nice people, I think it sounds like a good price. Enjoy your trip.
- Fantastic price. Who are you going with?(I mean company).
- That is the price that you packaged from there, cost will vary if you book from other places for sure. Your package is all planned and booked for you, so you need not do anything more but just follow the tour. If you were more adventurous, you could have just book the flights to Thailand and then booked the tours as you like from there. May be a bit more time consuming but could have given you more options along the way. You can look at this link for the attractions in the places you are visiting and see if you have spare time to indulge in more sightseeing http://www.tourismthailand.org. You can contact me for more info if you like.
- Hmm £1400 quid each seems a bit pricey but not excessively so. I would have been tempted to book the flights and then got the accommodation separately myself. That said you have got the peace of mind all flights accomodation etc has been sorted out for you. Try working out how much it would cost independently - here is good site www.sawadee.com
- HI PHONE travelbag on there free phone number and see if they can beat your price http://www.travelbag.co.uk/ or phone around some other travel agents and see if you can get a better deal If they ask you price you have been quoted knock some money of the £2887 and see what they say HAGGLE BIG TIME FOR BEST DEAL
- I agree with Johnnyonelung I think its kind of high for example £1020 flight X2 = Emirates or Gulf Air £ 65 4 Star Hotel in Bangkok [2-3 MAR] Radisson 2 nights £130 4 Star Hotel Chiang Mai [4-7 MAR] Imperial Mai Ping Chiang Mai 4 nights £ 35 Elephant/ rafting 2 people Chiang Mai Mae Tang Elephant Safari, Oxen-Cart and Bamboo Raft Fullday (08.30 AM. - 04.00 PM. ) lunch + admission fee include £498. 4 Star Hotel PhuketPeach Blossom Kata Beach [8-15 MAR] £114 Andaman Beach Resort is a modern bungalow development, built directly on the beach far from other resorts and offering wonderful stretches of beach on which to relax. (6 days)[16-21 MAR] £102 Flight BKK to Chiang Mai Thai Airways X2 £204 Flight Chiang Mai to Phuket X2 £115 Flight Phi Phi to BKK X2 £102 Flight Phuket to Phi Phi X2 £2485 There is a variety of hotels that call themselves 3 and 4 stars that aren't really. I booked a tour to Chaing Mai and felt ripped off because they overcharged me and I had a terrible room. I stayed at the Mae Ping in Chiang Mai it was a very nice hotel. And that raft trip/elephant ride is the biggest come on because its only £20 per person. It would help to know the places you are staying. I didn't scrimp on the hotels like the tour will.
- Before I decided to live out here in NE of Thailand ,I used to come here independently .Book my own trips and hotels .If you want it all planed out for you yes do the package trip, at the 25% higher cost. I have always done it independently, and found it to be more interesting. But I took a good book on how to get around Thailand like The Lonely Planet Guide .Has everything you want in it. You will find everything very cheep here. Have fun and enjoy Thailand.
- sounds like you got yourself a bargain. Ko Phi Phi is said to be stunning! Who did you book this trip with?
- Seems a little expensie. I would investigate booking flights and accommodation through locao companies. A good agent in London for flights is Seewoo (Mr. Kar), Asiatravel is in Singapore, Thaifly in Bangkok. You could end up saving yourselves 25%
