Does anyone know how far it (possibly driving time) is from Statesboro, GA to Tybee Island area or Savannah?
We are going on vacation this summer to Tybee Island and I'm trying to find out how far it would be to drive to a waterpark that is in Statesboro, GA. Neither the condo where we are staying or the waterpark have a suitable physical address to plug into an online mapping service so I can't find out that way and the waterpark is closed until May so I can't contact them to ask directly. Also any suggestions for fun things to do in or around Savannah and Tybee island with kids would be great. Obviously there is the beach but I have young, very fair skinned kids who can only stay on the beach for so long. I would love to find out if there are places to hike or bike or things of that nature. THANKS!!

- Distance between Statesboro, Georgia, United States and Tybee Island, Georgia, United States, as the crow flies: 62 miles (99 km) (54 nautical miles) http://www.indo.com/cgi-bin/dist?place1=Statesboro,+GA&place2=Tybee+Island,+GA
- I lived in Georgia for about 10 years although on the West Coast side (near Alabama and Florida Gulf). You don't live there without spending time in Savannah though. Never been to Statesboro but graduated from The University of Georgia and everyone knows where Statesboro is. From Athens (UGA), you can get to Savannah in about 3 hours, 4 tops. Statesboro is South of Athens and on the East side, so I'd guess 2 to 3 hours tops; probably closer to 2. Savannah is a great old city and Tybee is very nice as well. You can do it all. Suggest you e-mail or call the Chamber of Commerce in Savannah. You'll get the run of the land. Best bet though, ask the locals when you get there. Just hit I-95 and follow the map to Statesville, North, for the side trip.
- driving time is about an hour or so..i myself am from the savannah area...their is also jekyll island which is about 2 hours away...they have a water park also. there are a few parks in town that kids can play at...Forsyth park is really pretty...there is also a monument called Ft.
