Best Caribbean Resort with beach snorkeling?

Greetings from chilly Chicago! My husband and I are planning next year's vacation. Our usual MO is Hawaii, given that it's easy to get to and the weather is consistent. We'd like to switch it up this year and hit the Carribbean. Can anyone suggest a resort ($350 - $500 per night) that has snorkeling right off the beach? I could lay there all day but the hubby gets bored. I'm open to any island as long as there is a little bit of activity going on outside of the resort. Think EcoTours or scuba. Thanks so much!

  1. How about looking into Puerto Rico? The link below shows a beautiful resort there and there are scuba diving and snorkelling activities right on the beach. As well there are many other activities to do that are fun and relaxing. Hope that helps:-)
  2. Sandals antigua. Beautiful beaches and no kids at the resort.
  3. Check out the Cozumel Palace in Cozumel, Mexico. Ocean front rooms, all have over-sized jacuzzis and hammocks on the balcony. All-inclusive with the best AI food I have ever had. Great infinity pool and crystal clear waters for snorkling just steps from the pool. http://www.palaceresorts.com/Resorts/CozumelPalace/Index.asp And check out this site to book your trip: http://www.travelcuse.com . We used it when we went in 2007 and got a great deal. Best of luck!
  4. Belize or Costa Rica if you want the best snorkeling in the world guarantee. The best in the Caribbean. These two islands are also known as exotic island very Eco friendly and romantic
  5. I would look into Ambergris Caye, Belize. It has excellent snorkeling and diving. The largest coral reef in the Caribbean is located right off the caye. http://www.ambergriscaye.com Another suggest would be Providenciales on Turks and Caicos. Grace Bay Beach. Stay at Coral Gardens, there is a coral reef just a few feet off shore. Beautiful water and beach. If you get even more adventurous, take a boat excursion out to the 3rd largest reef. The water is stunning. Check this site out http://www.wherewhenhow.com Either destination, your hubby will not get bored. Good luck and enjoy)
