beach trip question...easy 10 points?

Okay so, long story short about every year now my dad, my stepmom, stepbrother, and their extended family go down to Corolla, NC every summer for our vacation. We leave around 3:00 A.M. Saturday morning and get there around 1-2ish in the afternoon (we live outside of Pittsburgh, PA). It takes us around 10-11 hours normally because of the severely congested traffic on the main highway that runs through the Outer Bank island, which is Route 12, along with rush hour traffic and beach traffic. It just so happens that THIS year, my mom is making me compete in my annual horse show on August 3rd, and the rest of my family goes down to the beach the morning of August 2nd. So, I will leave the horse show when I'm down, which is approx. around 3-5 P.M. on that Sunday. Without ANY traffic, mind you, how long would it take my dad and I to get to Corolla from Pittsburgh? We will probably experience some rush hour traffic, but nothing more than that, right?

  1. um idk lol ☺☻♥
  2. Probably around 8 hours. But have a fun it sounds like a blast : )
  3. It's a 525 drive. That would take about 8 or 8 1/2 hours of steady Interstate driving via Washington, Richmond, and Norfolk. I wouldn't think the last leg of the drive on the 2-lane roads into North Carolina would be a problem that late at night...but watch for deer.
